About

I was brought up by a talented mother in an era when it was great to be a kid. My Mom was a dabbling pianist and an eclectic music lover who encouraged and supported me in after-school music lessons and put me through two different music colleges, Hartt College of Music for classical performance and Berklee College of Music for jazz theory and ensemble work.

I spent early years performing classical pieces, Beatles, Top 40, jazz, rock and an Elvis tribute show in various venues across the country. Some years back my country/pop originals were reviewed at Durango Songwriters Expo in 2008 and 2010, where industry executives from SESAC, ASCAP, BMI, and various record and publishing companies were represented.

Writing country/pop was wonderful, but I've found a natural fit writing children’s songs. Several of my songs have been performed by school choruses in Rockland County over the last few years and have been very well received; the parents appreciate the messages and the kids love singing them!

With the excellent production services and personal care of my long-time friend and producer, Berklee colleague Bobby Deitch, my songs are ready for a larger audience. I've filled them with positive messages which try not to klunk kids over the head with lectures; instead I'm trying to gently nudge them toward having courage, eating good foods and being kind to one another. Perhaps they in turn can teach us!

I hope you find my songs enjoyable – I had a blast writing them! Please let me know what you think!

With love and laughter, Vikki
